I can pinpoint the moment when I was captured by the art of dance.
I was 10 years old and my mother took me to see the movie, "That's Entertainment." Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse had me mesmerized. The Broadway Melody/Gotta Dance scene in Singing in the Rain -- when Cyd Charisse kicks Gene Kelly's glasses away, and they perform the pas de deux was that moment for me. I was forever bitten by the "dance bug."
Although I later received my Bachelor of Business Administration degree, I never stopped dancing. And even though I tried to be "practical," every attempt I made at joining the "real world" was thwarted as I was pulled back again and again to the world of entertainment and at it's core, the dance. I was introduced to the world of corporate entertainment in 1989, and I created Dancesation in 1995. From inception, our goal was to provide a consistently high level of talent for our clients, while fulfilling both the objectives and the budget of each event.
In 1999, I met my partner, Billy Fajardo. He changed my life in ways I could never have imagined as the theatrical dancer I was in 1995. Billy introduced me to the world of competitive ballroom dancing, and after countless hours of intense focus and training, we found success with not one, but two World Championship titles. His contributions to both my life and this company moved us in a new direction. We began to add the dimension of Partner Dance to our customized shows, creating a distinctive fusion of Ballroom-style Dance and Theatrical Performance of the highest caliber.
The Dancesation product is sophisticated, entrancing, and a visual feast for the eyes. With our work, we strive to create more than just the spectacle of lavish costumes and special effects. We strive to reach beyond our clients "oohs and ahs;" to that extra plateau where our performance touches the emotions of our audience much the same way I was touched as a child of 10.
Dancesation Productions is proud to offer a variety of products from Ambient Interactive Entertainers to Team Building projects, to full-scale Experiential Productions with technical support, decor and staging that will capture an audience for 4 hour events or more.
